Hayley Caruthers, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife

Hayley Caruthers is a Certified Nurse Midwife. She has dreamt of being a midwife since high school and is committed to being with women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Throughout nursing school, she was a doula working in tandem with nurse-midwives. During that time, she supported women in labor emotionally with her calming “yoga” voice and doula techniques. After graduating nursing school, she pursued her midwifery education at Case Western Reserve University. During her training, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse, and upon graduation, she gained valuable experience as a travel nurse in a variety of birth environments. She is here to work alongside you to have the best birth for you and your baby, as well as beyond.
Hayley holds a deep passion for community birth, believing that families deserve safe, sacred, and supportive spaces to welcome their babies. She loves the way birth centers honor the natural rhythm of labor and allow families to feel both empowered and nurtured. For her, community birth is about more than a setting—it’s about cultivating trust, fostering connection, and celebrating each family’s unique journey into parenthood.

Ashley Collie, LM CPM
Founder of Haven Birth & Wellness
Licensed midwife and mother of three, Ashley founded Haven Birth & Wellness in 2020 under the name Hill Country Birth & Wellness. Her journey to birthwork came about from her own childbirth experiences; they were not traumatic but they were not what she wanted. Ashley started as a doula supporting childbearing families in the Richmond, VA area. Shortly after becoming a doula, Ashley accepted an apprenticeship with a local homebirth midwife. Over the next 8 years, her training took many twists and turns, ultimately landing Ashley in Burnet, Texas after becoming a Texas licensed midwife in 2018.

Marlene Mogavero, RDMS
Sonographer
I am a board-certified sonographer and the owner of On-Site Mobile Ultrasound PLLC. It is my pleasure and honor to collaborate with the valued clients of Hill Country Birth and Wellness.
Certified through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with a specialization in OB/GYN, I bring two decades of experience in the ultrasound field. My journey started in California, where I dedicated seven years to working in hospitals before venturing to establish my own mobile ultrasound business. Over the years, I have collaborated with various clinics, offering OB/GYN, primary care, and urgent care services.
While I was born and raised in Texas, I spent 30 years in California before returning to my home state in 2021. In 2022, I initiated my second mobile ultrasound business.
My admiration for midwives; personalized, natural, and holistic approach to the birthing process has led me to make a dedicated choice – I exclusively work with midwives in Texas! I am steadfast in my commitment to delivering top-notch client care through clear communication, ensuring a personal and informative ultrasound experience. It is a special privilege for me to reveal to expecting parents the precious sight of their little one in utero.

Dr. Katie Castillo, PT
Strength & Dignity Wellness
Hi! I’m Katie Castillo, a licensed Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer in the state of Texas. I moved to Texas from Wisconsin to attend Baylor University (Sic ‘Em Bears!) in 2011 and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2015. I then attended University of St. Augustine in Austin, graduating with my Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2018.
After a five year stint in the outpatient hospital based world and the birth of my son in 2023, I decided to my open my own Mobile Physical Therapy Practice with a special emphasis on pregnancy and postpartum women. I have always had a passion for mothers and babies. This was only intensified with the birth of my son, and the greater understanding of the impact pregnancy has on the female body.
My mission is to help mothers improve function during and after pregnancy so they can be the best version of “Mom” they can be for their children.
